SUMMARY: Dry in the East, rain moving into the West.

SYNOPTIC SITUATION: A weak ridge of high pressure lies over most of the British Isles, with frontal systems moving into the far West.

WIND: NE light, SW moderate in the far NW.

WEATHER: Mainly dry with clear spells across many areas overnight with fog and frost forming by the morning. Cloudy, locally overcast in the far West as outbreaks of light or moderate rain, preceded by sleet or snow, moves slowly east.

TEMPERATURE: Cold in the East overnight with a frost, slightly milder in the West.

CONFIDENCE OF FORECAST: High – 95%
